About this blog

Have you ever come across the Tibetan term “Tertön“?

In the Buddhist regions of the Himalayas this refers to a Buddhist tradition of yogis or mystics who are able to find hidden teachings. It may be actual old texts but it also could be insights transmitted to them by an element or place they got in touch with.

This Blog is about being inspired to explore inner landscapes with a good chance of discovering precious insights.

As the inner and outer world are connected, special places can be a door to start this journey. To find a „special“ place does not mean you have to travel far away. Sometimes our backyard is the most exotic to us.

Our brain welcomes outer change to be able to transform inner patterns. Therefore stepping into a new environment is one of the healthiest ways to enhance our neurological system.

Science is on its way of exploring that inner universe we are built of. But for each of us it is easier to take the shortcut and start the inward journey ourselves – probably to discover that we have access to all of the information of that space called universe. The knowledge ancient mystic wisdom discovered in thousands of years is step by step confirmed by modern science.

We live in amazing times, having the opportunity to embark on both journeys at a time: the modern scientific one and the old mystical ways that kept their secrets for thousands of years.

We all can become the „Tertöns“ of our own lives. The most unknown we may discover on the path is how our subconscious works.

But to get there, we are well advised to enjoy the highest of all wisdoms – one that we all naturally have:

Asking the „right“ questions to get us even started.

It seems Hanuman and his cousins get all the style credits:
„Being free of all time and space – feels like I turned into SonOgong.“
K-Pop band Seventeen´s hit song „Super“ is a dedication to the Korean version of Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, a master of transformation.

There are those names that immediately spark their magic into our minds. Like:

„Darjeeling!“

Pass the Banyan trees, cross the lotus pond, enjoy the warm breeze and listen to the waves breaking on the shore. Serenity. You just entered a place where everything Bali is about is right there, surrounding you. And still – there is even more. Whatever trip you take…

About me

I was born into a multinational family and spent my childhood in the Southeast of Europe, where migration of peoples took place throughout thousands of years. The Romans, Goths, Mongols as well as many other peoples from Asia left their traces there.

After moving to Western Europe I had the opportunity to experience the different cultural dimensions, that are all part of this continent: completely different views on history (well, Asia can be so far away and exotic seen from the West), a very different kind of humour and altogether a different lens through which you look upon our world.

Best things of all: I had the precious opportunity to choose my favourite parts of the East and the West and blend this mixture into my life.

As I was also free in my spiritual choice – I never had to join religion-classes in my childhood – I went for the wisdoms that seemed most logical to me – yes, logical – when dealing with the big questions of human life. Buddhism gave me the best answers as well as questions and I was very fortunate to meet grand Buddhist teachers.

As I had experienced dictatorship and democracy, working as a political scientist was the most obvious consequence. But the years in the parliamentary system showed me, that the most important questions people actually have, are only partly about political issues, but even more about how to deal with change and major psychological challenges. That is why I am sure that empowering people for mental health is the most important tool to ensure our democratic system in the future.

I am also very grateful to all the amazing instructors of professional coaching I have met during another learning period of my professional life and feel very happy to be able to quote some of their work and knowledge.

Life has incredible dimensions that can give you the most surprising answers. It is worth taking a step back and finding the right angle to look at it. And then again and again…
